Hi,

I am getting a User Abend U4038 when i am running My XPEDITER for a Pure Cobol Program. The Program in turn is calling some 30 odd cobol programs.I am intereted in going to two programs called by this driver program so i copiled these two and my driver program in SCLM with XPEDITER option. Other programs i have given the production concatenation. Now when i try to enter to Xpediter mode i am getting this abend . I am getting the following information from the Log file.

Hi Kolusu,

This Abend i am getting as soon as try to start XPEDITER for this testing.I am not able to view the SYSOUT , thatz why i took the Log Information. Do you mean to say that when we run a TSO test in XPEDITER a job is there in the SDSF ? If so what would be owner and job name. Please guide me with this.

Thanks,

Karun !

I think that this abend is related to Language Environment.

Might want to try this........

Make sure that you do not have any COBOL II libraries in your "loadlibs" list. Check this in the by typing SETUP, once you have entered the TSO option of Xpeditor. You may need to find out what the name of your Language Environment load library is, and add it to the list.

It is going to be something like SYS1.CEERUN or maybe SYS2.CEERUN.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I am using SCLM to with XPEDITER option to compile this program. So in the JCL created by SCLM i am not able to view which one of this SYS1.CEERUN ot SYS2.CEERUN is used. Can you please help me out to get over this ? Even i am contacting Compuware people and they too are not getting much lead. When i try to run in Batch Connect ( 3 Option in Xpediter Primary Menu Instead of 2.1 ) i am getting an "INVALID JOB" message in the top right hand corner when i use my run JCL that i had used in 2.1 .

Please help..!!!!

Use option 5 (UTILITIES) then 1 (REGION SIZE) to see how much region you are getting allocated to your TSO session.

Hi,

I checked the region size It is :-

Percent TSO storage used
----10---20---30---40---50---60---70---80---90---

It looks like you probably have enough region but I can't be positive because I don't know the program. Lines of code does not equate to memory usage.

The fact that you are getting a recursive abend might indicate a memory problem which is why I suggested checking the region size. I would also make sure that you are not using split screen mode as I have seen this cause problems too.

Compuware would be the best resource for resolving this problem.

When this happens, see if pressing PF1 will give you more information.

I think that you need to include the CEE libraries in the steplib of the job that you are running if you are running in bacth connect
