Hello Everybody,
Just wanted to know if it is possible to copy the 1st line of every member in a PDS into some PS dataset using File-Aid.
WE have a PDS which contains some 9000 members. I need to copy the 1st line of each member into some sequential dataset. I know it can be done via REXX, but I would appreciate, if someone can suggest a way to do this via File-Aid Batch.
Thanks

Anandrk,
The following JCL will give you the desired results.
Code: |
//*******************************************************************
//* THE FOLLOWING STEP PRINTS THE FIRST LINE OF EVERY MEMBER OF PDS *
//*******************************************************************
//STEP0100 EXEC PGM=IEBPTPCH
//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSUT1 DD DSN=YOUR PDS,
// DISP=SHR
//SYSUT2 DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSIN DD *
PUNCH TYPORG=PO,STOPAFT=1
