Guys

has anyone of you tried this performance booster? I decided to give it a try after a sas job ran for ever. And I did not find any performance
improvement. A sort with 5000000 observations in the job took 25 cpu secs without the option and 27.13 cpu secs after adding the SORTBLKMODE option. Am I missing something?

Mfjin,

I think you also need SORTANOM=512 which enables SAS support for block-mode sorting. If it is already set to 512 at your site, then may be can try some of the options suggested here.

Hope this helps...

Cheers

Mfjin,

For the installed defaults and override parms, you can look up in DDNAME associated to CONFIG in the SAS JCL.

Hope this helps...

Cheers
