1/ Open File-1 in Edit/View mode
2/ On the Command Line, type in COMPARE '<File-2>'
3/ All hightlighted lines with '======' are from File-2

Nutcracker,
That was hillarious . Thinking of it, wouldn't be nice to have such a command?
Sushshibu,
There is NO command in COBOL which will compare the contents of 2 files. Please understand that COBOL is a language and not an utility.
If you want to compare 2 files , then you can use the option 3.13(SUPERC) on the mainframe.
Check this link for comparing files with cobol

Hope this helps...
Cheers

?? COMPare has been part of the ISPF editor since Version 4.1. Do you not have it? If you do, I'm not sure I can see any reason to ever use 3.13. If you don't then your version of ISPF probably has been out of service for about 8 years. |

Kolusu, I forgot to mention that COMPARE is part of ISPF.
Thanks 'Semi'Geezer for chipping in. |
