Obviously, using cut and paste from your 3270 emulation session is a possibility, but I sense you are looking for something more.

First of all, the solution is not JCL. It will require much more. How will you be moving the data from the mainframe host to the server? By this, I mean, what data transport protocol will you be using to accomplish this?

As an example, where I work, data gets written to a dataset. That datatset is then read and processed by a mainframe-based Oracle database application, which in turn invokes a server-based Oracle database application, which then both moves and re-formats the data to the appropriate repository on the LAN.

Kiran,

If you are using RUMBA or EXTRA then you can use send/receive features to send and receive datasets from PC to mainframe and vice-versa

What Kolusu said also applies to for PCOMM, I do it quite frequently, although I use Word to read and automaticlly reformat the data.

If you have an emulator which has ActiveX session control then you could go into Word or Excel and write a VBA macro to establish a session with the mainframe and get the data into a document or spreadsheet directly...or you could use MQ Client and get it that way...or TIBCO...or....

Just getting carried away.
