|
|
Hi,
I want to receive file from a server through FTP in MVS.The length of the dataset name into which file is received plus filename in server exceeds of 80 characters. As JCL can have record length of 80, i need to split the GET command into two lines. Can anybody help me with syntax for this.
GET 'FILENAME IN SERVER' 'DATASET NAME' (REPLACE
My Case:
GET 'MANUAL-SHEET-SHF-SCO-2004-06.TXT'
'APPCOM.RAJESH.FILESRVR.D060823.SWISS.SCODTLS' (REPLACE
This command exceeds 80 characters. So this command should be splitted into two lines. I need the syntax for splitting into two lines.Simply splitting into two lines is not working. _________________ Rajesh |

Rajesh,
A blank followed by a plus sign ( + ) at the end of an FTP subcommand line is used as a continuation indicator for all FTP subcommands except the QUOTE subcommand. When the continuation indicator is encountered at the end of an FTP subcommand line, the next line is appended to the subcommand. For example,
Code: |
PUT SOURCE.DS.NAME +
DEST.DS.NAME
|
is interpreted as:
Code: |
PUT SOURCE.DS.NAME DEST.DS.NAME
|
so in your case put a plus sign at the end of first line.
Code: |
GET 'MANUAL-SHEET-SHF-SCO-2004-06.TXT' +
'APPCOM.RAJESH.FILESRVR.D060823.SWISS.SCODTLS' (REPLACE
|
Hope this helps...
Cheers
